Cave Spring

Welcome to Cave Spring GA. Cave Spring is located near Rome in Floyd County GA. The town is named for its natural mineral springs and limestone cave. The town of Cave Spring was established in 1832. Cave spring takes it name from the crystal clear spring water which still serves as the main source of drinking water for the area. The water has won many awards for its purity and taste. Cave Spring has many historic homes and buildings from its early days such as the Presbyterian Church 1887, the train depot 1880, and 19th century hotels and boarding houses.

The Georgia School for the Deaf which was established in 1846 where Helen Keller attended is located in Cave Spring. The school’s mission is to ensure that appropriate educational programs are available for hearing-impaired and multi-handicapped hearing-impaired students residing in Georgia. The school was once a field hospital used for both Conferderate and Union Troops during the Civil War.
